Publication costs The non-profit Society for Personality Research shares part of the cost of publication of an author's own paper in SBP with the author(s) concerned. Publication costs are based on the length of the paper, and include detailed subediting, typesetting, initial proofing, airmailing proofs to authors, printing, collating, and binding etc.
The author share publication amount for authors is currently US$280.00 per printed page. As a nonprofit body, however, the Society for Personality Research Inc, uses funds from subscriptions to assist authors for whom costs at this time would have to be met personally rather than from their institution or agency.
Upon acceptance of the paper, the Society for Personality Research fund would be able to reduce the author share publication amount by US$24.00 per page for authors who do not have an applicable grant or institutional funding at this time to enable them to meet this cost. If an author is eligible for the Society's publication subsidy, the remaining author share is now currently US$256.00 per printed page

General Information
Length of manuscript To obtain a rough estimate of printed page length, note that there is space for approximately 400 words or equivalent per page. Allowance must be made for title and abstract (0.8 or 4/5 of a page), references, tables, and figures, as well as headings etc. To minimize author share payment costs, some authors choose, and are able to effect an appropriate reduction in the length of their manuscripts.
Special option for publication of research notes on work in progress.
Receipt of papers will be acknowledged as soon as possible by email. Review of your manuscript will normally be completed within 8 weeks of receipt. If accepted and scheduled for publication, your manuscript will be published promptly, usually within 9 months. Proofs of the article will be airmailed and faxed to authors as soon as they become available, and any amendments should be returned or advised promptly.
Immediately upon publication, a complimentary copy of the Journal issue is forwarded to each of the authors. In addition, upon the article's placement on either our website or the Ingenta website, an electronic copy, in pdf format, will be emailed to the corresponding author for scholarly dissemination. Official article reprints with the journal cover are now available if requested prior to publication, at a special price to authors of US$5.00 per copy. Extra journal issues are also available at a reduced price of US$49.00 to authors published in that issue (normal retail price is US$74.00).
