In the workplace, supervisors often serve as crucial role models for their employees, guiding and influencing their actions and attitudes. The article The power of example: The relationship between supervisors’ and employees’ organizational citizenship behavior by Dongxu Li and Congyong Shang delves into the world of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) by applying social learning theory to understand the relationship between supervisors' and employees' OCB, as well as the moderating role of leader–member exchange (LMX).

The study analyzes the interactions between supervisors and employees, providing a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics at play. With a sample of 239 employees from various organizations in China, this research uncovers how supervisors' OCB not only positively influences employees' OCB but also demonstrates the importance of a strong LMX in enhancing this relationship.
