Married couples rated their marital satisfaction and played an interpersonal competitive game which revealed the success with which they interacted. Younger husbands who score more mature on the Stewart measure of psychosocial maturity tend to belong to more successful marriages, as judged by both criteria, as do college educated wives who show less immaturity and more phallic adventurousness.
