Job satisfaction has always been an essential factor in the long-term development of enterprises. Although there have been many studies on job satisfaction, few studies have related it to Confucian values. Since personal values greatly affect one’s attitudes and behaviors, it was important to conduct a more in-depth study of Confucian values and how these can predict job satisfaction. In my study, 501 Chinese employees were surveyed using the Confucian Values Scale, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire, the Psychological Capital Questionnaire, and the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire. The empirical results showed that Confucian values had a significant positive impact on job satisfaction and that this relationship was mediated by psychological capital and organizational commitment. The results provide a new perspective on job satisfaction and inspiration for its future. Organizations should consider taking measures to enhance employees’ recognition of Confucian values as this will likely increase their job satisfaction.
