In the era of digitalization, enhancing employees’ work meaningfulness has become a critical issue in corporate management. Grounded in conservation of resources theory, this study examined the effect of networking behavior on employees’ work meaningfulness, using two-wave matched survey data from 503 employees of various organizations across China. Mediation effect testing revealed that networking behavior positively predicted work meaningfulness both directly and indirectly, with job embeddedness and role breadth self-efficacy acting as independent and chain mediators. These findings contribute to theoretical understanding of work meaningfulness and offer practical insights for corporate managers and policymakers seeking to enhance employees’ work meaningfulness in the digital era.
