Apology for duplicate publication
Main Article Content
It has come to my notice that, apart from minor editorial corrections, I have published the same article "Response bias and public and private self-consciousness in Chinese", in both Social Behavior and Personality: An international journal, and also The Journal of Social Behavior and Personality. The reference details are Hamid, P. N., Lai, J. C. L., and Cheng, S. T. (2001). Response Bias and Public and Private Self-Consciousness in Chinese. Social Behavior and Personality: An international journal, 29(8),733-742, and Hamid, P. N., Lai, J. C. L., and Cheng, S. T. (2000). Response Bias and Public and Private Self-Consciousness in Chinese. The Journal of Social Behavior and Personality, 15,431-440. We note for Social Behavior and Personality authors are advised that "neither the journal nor its editors assumes any responsibility for obtaining any copyright permissions necessary for publication of articles". This is the responsibility of the author(s). I wish to sincerely apologise to the editor and the readers of Social Behavior and Personality: An international journal. This error is entirely the first author's mistake and the two coauthors played no part in the oversight. There was obviously no gain to obtaining two publications and I can only conjecture as to the full sequence of events that led to such an error. Suffice to say that memory loss and confusion in winding up the numerous loose ends of my career before retirement has led to the duplication. P. Nicholas Hamid, PhD July 2003.
