The relationship between boredom proneness and some solitary sexual activities among adults such as masturbating and viewing pornographic films was examined. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that sexual dissatisfaction and boredom proneness were significant predictors of people’s engaging in such activities, and the analysis of variance revealed that highly boredom-prone individuals were more likely to engage in such solitary sexual practices than were lower boredom-prone individuals.
